Description
For your consideration, a beautiful Antique Vintage Brass Carl Zeiss Jena Microscope No. 26173 with original Mahogany Case. Carl Zeiss founded his company in 1846 in Jena, Germany and focused solely on making each microscope by hand. This is a beautiful piece of history. The microscope has good clear optics throughout and it tilts, the eyepiece tube is the extendable type. It has a Round-Mechanical Stage and the center piece has dials for vertical and horizontal movement. All dials and mechanical aspects of this scope are in working condition. Below the stage is the condenser and mirror to control the level of light. Overall the microscope appears to be in working condition. All contained in a beautiful wooden case-with-handle (includes 2-keys - 1 engraved with Letter "Z" that Opens/Locks the door). The case has a "hairline crack" on the back and it has visible scratches on sides/front/back but overall in great condition for its age. The microscope shows its age as well (normal signs of wear) so don't expect it to be brand new. Although in working order it is really being sold as decorative / collector item rather than a scientific instrument. As far as I know, it has never been cleaned and/or polished. A BEAUTIFUL SET!!!!
Accessories:
3-Objectives engraved with letters "A", "D" and "F" (marked C. ZEISS" with matching canisters-brass (All Objectives canister labeled C ZEISS JENA with perspective letter as shown in objective), 3-eye pieces marked "1", "2" and "8-Compens-Ocular" (All eyepiece engraved Carl Zeiss Jena on the side).
