A Complete Flatters And Garnett’s Micro-Projector Circa 1920s’

Description

A complete and working micro-projector signed “Precision / micro-projector / n° 1099 / made by / Flatters & Garnette Ltd / 309, Oxford Rd Manchester 13” and datable around 1920s’.
“A cylindrical pillar stands on a flat tripod base with an inner pillar telescopes upwards and is held by a tightening screw.
The optical components and light source are carried on a beam at the top of the stand. The joint allows the assembly to tilt and a lever locks it in position. The light source is positioned at one end of the beam and is powered by a separate transformer. The light passes though a glass chamber, a stage with a condenser and a projecting microscope [here preserved with two objective], all on sliding mounts. The condenser and microscope have rack and pinion focusing. The microscope body tube has a rotating objective changer at one end. A slot at the other end of the tube holds a projection lens.”
At the top a rotative miror we can be protrected with a lid cap.
All the rack and pinion work perfectly, the instrument was formely polished and there some consolidation but it is in good general and working condition.
