    Bell engraved “Made / by / Conn / Elkhart, Ind. / Worcester, Mass.”
    Stands 29” high; bell diameter 14 1/8.” Conn Eb Tuba
    Recently used in brass quintet portraying 1890 – 1910 era.
    Plays at modern pitch. Pitched in Eb.
    All piston valves and tuning slides fully operational.
    Original valve buttons have been lost and replaced with modern pearl looking
    buttons.
    Pipe into which mouthpiece fits has been replaced with a modern larger diameter
    one to accommodate modern mouthpieces.
    Owner
    used a modern Wick 5L
    mouthpiece, which is not included in sale.
    Lyre holder for instrument has been lost.
    Tuba has experienced many repairs/dent removals in its 120 plus years of life.
    Considerable original plating rubbed off.
    Needs polishing.
    As one might expect in an instrument of this age, valves are well worn and work
    best with a heavy valve oil,
    such as Hetman’s Synthetic Classic Piston
    Lubricant 3 Valve Oil, which is not included in sale.
    31940 serial number puts date of manufacture to 1895 – 1896.

    In very good and clean condition, inside and out,
    except for some corrosion on metal hardware used to attach shoulder straps.
    SHIPPING DETAILS: I have estimated the size and weight of the box. I live on the east coast the estimated UPS shipping to the west coast is approx. 0. Obviously lower cost closer to me. Shipping to Norfolk, VA was approx. . I am charging an additional for packaging. Once the item is sold, I shall package it and take it to UPS for the cost. The invoice will be sent at that time.
