    WHAT IS INTARSIA?
    The
    fields of different colors and materials appear to be inlaid in one another, fit together like a jigsaw puzzle.   Using various colors and types of wood the artist assembles the carefully cut pieces of wood to make an impressive piece.  The designed is glued to a simple base that forms the round circle that hangs on the wall.  Before it is finished it is treated with several coats of high gloss clear finish for a near "piano" finish.
